married, but only legally
huh? i can hear some say, but thats what in means in my family. until the day when the customary tea-ceremony has been held would my "legally recognized" wife be considered part of my family. ridiculous isn't it? does that mean that if i never go through the traditional marriage ceremonies, i can carry on receiving red packets? hmm, maybe that ain't a bad trade-off after all. so although she is legally my wife, my family members still addresses her as my girlfriend. this clash of society progress and traditions put us in a fairly strange position, like sitting on the fence. strange, i must say.

Being legally recognised and yet not being viewed as so in the entire family tree might not be such a bad thing after all... Sitting on the fence? I agree. It is the period of time where we can both sit back and see what's on the other side. No dragging in of the whole family should anything fuck up. It may not be as bad as it seems.
And nothing wrong with having more years to collect angbaos too! More free dough!!!
